Saatva Mattress Review: Luxury At A Great Price!

Are the Saatva Good Mattresses for You?

Let’s start by answering the most fundamental question: Is this mattress right for me? This mattress might or may not be right for you depending on your weight, height, preference, and sleeping position.

The Saatva is available in three firmness options: Plush Soft or Luxury Firm. This review features the Luxury Firm version of the Saatva.

To , I Recommend The Saatva Mattress For

  • The Saatva, I believe, is aGreat option for stomach sleepersIt is a firmer mattress, which will give them the support they need in order to align their hips with their shoulders.
  • I thinkCombination stomach and back sleepersThe Saatva is a great choice for anyone who wants a soft, comfortable mattress to sleep on.
  • I recommend Saatva to everyone.Heavy sleepersBecause of its strong construction, they will get the extra support and durability that they require.

I Don’t Recommend The Saatva Mattress To

  • I believe the Saatva is the best option.Side sleepers should not be allowed to stay at Luxury Firm. I would tell them to select the Plush Soft firmness level.
  • You might consider a different mattress if you are in a relationship and your partner is constantly turning and tossing at night. The mattress had high motion transfer, meaning you will likely feel your partner moving at night. The Saatva may be the right choice if your partner and you prefer innerspring feeling and don’t mind being disturbed during sleep.

How does the Saatva Mattress feel?

When reviewing a mattress, one of my first considerations is how it feels. There are many factors that affect how a mattress feels, but the main one is its overall firmness. Firmness can be subjective so I polled several people in the Sleepopolis office to get an overall idea.

The Saatvas firmness is in the Luxury Firm version.

The firmness scale ranges from 1 to 10 and the Saatva was rated 7 by us. The Saatva’s medium-firm industry standard of 6.5 is a far cry from the Saatva. On the firmer side.

Its coil-on-coil construction gives the Saatva a firm feel. Although the Saatva may feel slightly softer in its center, it has an a.Zoned support system.

The middle of the mattress has a layer of memory foam. This is to provide some pressure relief where it is needed. Overall, the Saatva was a very firm mattress.
I would recommend it especially to stomach sleepersIt will help keep their hips aligned with their shoulders and spine straight, which is important because it will keep their hips in line. The Saatva is also a good choice for back sleepers who prefer a firmer mattress. The Saatva was very comfortable for me while I lay on my stomach.

The Saatva Mattress: A Test

Let me now share my thoughts about the Saatva. I will also discuss its performance on our Sleepopolis tests to determine pressure relief and motion transfer.

Sleeping Position Can Relieve Pressure

Pressure relief refers the mattress’s ability to relieve tension at pressure points in the hips, shoulders and lumbar region. Anyone who has hip pain or shoulder pain will benefit from pressure relief. They’ll prefer a more gentle touch to the areas that are affected.

A pressure map was used to test the Saatvas’s pressure relieving abilities. The pressure map was laid on the mattress. I then sat down on it, on my stomach, back, and side. The map changes between blue and green for low pressure (with the blue being the lowest pressure), and yellow and red for high tension (with the red being the highest).

Results of the Saatvas pressure map

BackSome of the things I saw were very interesting.I get decent pressure relief for my backIt’s a great idea! The Saatva would be a good choice for back sleepers who love to feel on top.

SideYou’ll notice the yellow and red at my hips. While I was sleeping on my side, I felt some pressure. Overall, the Saatva is not the best choice for side sleepers.

StomachAlthough there was a little yellow around my thighs, I didn’t feel any pressure at my hips. This is the area I worry about when I am trying to stomach sleepers. I believe theSaatva is an excellent option for stomach sleepers.

Note for heavy sleepers:If you weigh more than 113kg, the Saatva classic mattress might not be the best choice. It doesn’t provide enough support to make me feel comfortable recommending it for heavier sleepers. It is important that your mattress does not cause aches or pains when you wake up. Saatva offers an HD version with extra support that is made to provide that extra support.

Motion Transfer

Motion transfer is the amount of movement that can be felt on either side of the bed. Low motion transfer means that you won’t feel any movement on the side opposite to yours. This is particularly important for couples and pet owners who share a bed with their pets.

I dropped a 5-kg steel ball from three heights to demonstrate motion transfer. Then, I measured the movement of the steel ball on the opposite side of the bed with a seismometer. The graphic below shows how each height mimics a different movement that you might feel in bed.

High motion transfer results were achieved by the Saatva.

These areVery high rates of motion transfer. There was quite a lot of movement from one side to the other. If you are not a sound sleeper, it is possible to feel the movements of your partner or pet at night.

Edge Support

Edge support refers to how well a mattress supports its edges compared with the middle. The Saatva mattress is protected by a polyfoam layer.

The Saatva is my favorite.Amazing edge supportIt was amazing! I felt as supported in the middle of the bed as on the side, and it didn’t feel like I was going anywhere.
