Adam Craig, Jared Rando And Tara Llanes Join Dustin Adams On Roster
(Newbury Park) Giant Bicycles and Pearl Izumi have joined forces to form the Giant/Pearl Izumi Mountain Bike Team.
Dustin Adams, 25, from Canada is back in the 2003 racing program. He finished third in last year’s NORBA Series, and was again named Canadian National Champion. Adams states that he is excited to be back on Giant Bikes in 03 and to work with the amazing new talent. VeloNews awarded Dustin the Comeback Of The Year Award for his outstanding finishes in the NORBA and World Cup races, respectively, during 2002.
Two of the sport’s most talented descenders are joining Adams. Jared Rando (21-year-old rising star from Australia) will be giving the Giant/Pearl Izumi Mountain Bike Team a two-punch on the men’s circuits of the NORBA, North American World Cup Downhill, and MountainCross events. They will also represent their countries at the 2003 World Championships, in Switzerland.
Tara Llanes, 2002 Dual Slalom national champ, will join the team for the women’s North American MountainCross circuit and Downhill circuit. Tara Llanes is a top-finisher in NORBA and X-Games competitions. Her charming personality and exposure to mainstream media has earned her a large fan base. She was a commentator on the Winter Olympics on ATTWireless.com and has appeared in Subaru commercials along with Martina Navratilova.
Adam Craig, a Cyclocross and Cross-Country star, will complete the Giant/Pearl Izumi Mountain Bike Team. Craig, who rose from the Devo development team, is currently the U-23 (Under 23), National Cross-Country Champion. Craig is also the U-23 Cyclocross Champion, and will defend his title at Domain Chandon Winery Napa, California on December 15th aboard a Giant TCX Cyclocross bike.
